Print page Prevention The ICAC helps NSW public sector agencies and individuals prevent corruption by providing advice and building an agency's resistance to corruption through training and resources. Guidance material is available on this site, but you can also call and speak to a corruption prevention officer on (02) 8281 5999 or toll free on 1800 463 909 between 9 am and 5 pm on business days. Foundations of corruption prevention The foundations for corruption prevention include elements that may not be formally expressed or written (such as leadership styles and the ethical climate within an organisation) and formalised systems and processes (such as having and implementing a code of conduct and an internal reporting system). Basic standards An organisation needs to set standards for managing conflicts of interest, gifts and benefits, outside employment, post-separation employment and community affiliations. Risk management Risk management has evolved from a narrow set of loosely related technical disciplines to a key driver of an agency’s strategic decisions and corporate governance landscape. Successful risk management focuses on outcomes as opposed to being rules-based and process-driven. Corruption prevention advice topics The ICAC provides advice on a range corruption prevention topics. Corruption prevention publications Corruption prevention publications produced by the NSW ICAC.
