MEDIA ALERT: Public inquiry into corruption allegations concerning Canterbury-Bankstown Council employee, contractor and others starts Monday

The NSW Independent Commission Against Corruption’s (ICAC) Operation Mantis public inquiry into allegations concerning former Canterbury-Bankstown Council (“council”) employee Benjamin Webb, former council contractor Pietro Cossu and others will start next Monday, 3 June 2024 at 10:00 am.

The Commission will live stream the proceedings via its website, www.icac.nsw.gov.au, and will post exhibits (provided they are not subject to non-publication orders), transcripts and witness lists. Updates will also be provided via the ICAC X account (@nswicac). Members of the media and the public may view the proceedings on the Commission’s premises, or via the live stream.
Commissioner the Hon Helen Murrell SC will preside at the public inquiry, and Counsel Assisting the Commission will be Ms Georgia Huxley and Ms Hannah Ryan of Counsel. The inquiry is set down for up to three weeks.
