The NSW Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) will appoint
its first Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Chief Commissioner the Hon
Peter Hall QC said today.
The appointment follows amendments to the Independent Commission Against Corruption Act 1988, which provides that the Chief Commissioner may appoint a Chief Executive Officer.
“After careful consideration, and consultation with the other
Commissioners, I have decided that it is appropriate for a Chief
Executive Officer to be appointed to the Commission,” Chief Commissioner
Hall said.
The purpose of the position will be to ensure effective management
frameworks, communications, governance and corporate systems and
processes to support the work of the ICAC.
“Given the unique and specialised roles and functions of the ICAC, we
are seeking suitably qualified and experienced candidates who will
provide strong strategic vision, underpinned by good governance,” Chief
Commissioner Hall said.
“The CEO will oversee the day-to-day management of the Commission,
providing corporate management advice and expertise to the Commissioners
to assist in decision-making, resource allocation, operational and
strategic planning.”
Advertisements will be placed in major newspapers this Friday and
Saturday (23 and 24 March 2018), and will be posted on the
iworkfor.nsw.gov.au website.
