Corruption and anti-corruption executive program

The Corruption and Anti-Corruption Executive Program is the only graduate course in Australia to teach theories of corruption combined with practical corruption prevention strategies.

The course is delivered by staff from the Crawford School of Economics and Government at the Australian National University and practitioners from the ICAC.

This multidisciplinary program prepares participants to take a leading role in preventing corruption in the workplace.

The course is offered as part of the ANU Masters in Public Policy degree and attracts participants from around the world, including senior officials from anti-corruption agencies overseas. The interactive environment offers opportunities to learn from the experiences of other course participants.

The next course will be held in Canberra from 28 September to 2 October 2009.

Course content

Participants study a range of theoretical approaches to corruption in order to build a conceptual foundation of corruption and its causes. Methods include:

  • analysis and application of behavioural, organisational and political approaches to corruption and anti-corruption
  • case study exercises to help participants develop effective and practical corruption prevention strategies
  • completion of a workplace project addressing corruption risks in the participant's organisation. ANU staff and corruption prevention experts from the ICAC offer on-going support and feedback on workplace projects.
